Sharing the Melbourne Map
30th June, 2017
Producer of the Melbourne Map, Melinda Clarke, shared the journey of creating the hand-drawn map at Library at The Dock on June 22.
Ms Clarke created the original black-and-white Melbourne Map with friend Deborah Young in the 1990s.
She said Melbourne’s skyline had changed dramatically in the past two decades, which prompted her to start on a new Melbourne Map.
Artist Lewis Brownlie joined the two-person team and has been drawing the new map 40 hours a week, aiming to put the new Melbourne on the map at the end of this year.
Ms Clarke showed a copy of the first Melbourne Map to the library audience.
