I would like to comment on the article quoting Simon Wilson in the latest Docklands News, (February 2011 Issue 61) in which he writes about the “improving” traffic along Harbour Esplanade. How can it possibly be improved when the traffic lanes have been reduced from two lanes to a single lane?

The removal of these trees has been an outrage. I have really struggled with what is going on here. Finding out who is responsible for the surrounding area of Yarra’s Edge is like a thick fog ... just a dim, blurry haze. And with a simple question asked of either VicUrban or City of Melbourne about progress, it’s like pass the parcel at a three-year-old’s birthday party.

Having endeavoured to get an answer, I am somewhat bemused by the apparent necessity for the Central Pier party boats to sound their fog horns three or four times whilst departing or arriving from their berth.
