A winter of activation in Docklands

While the cold creeps in, Docklands’ events calendar is just starting to heat up this June with Firelight Festival, The Art of Banksy and Dreamskape.

Firelight Festival

Docklands’ favourite winter festival is back from June 28 to 30, illuminating the suburb with live music, fire performers, flame jets, fire sculptures and a world-first underground light show at Marvel Stadium.

Firelight Labyrinth will transform Marvel Stadium’s underground into a sea of glows and sounds, with over 144,000 lights designed by Mandylights, international creative lighting specialists.
“Firelight Festival is a beacon of light for Docklands’ traders – driving 100,000 visitors to the precinct in 2023, creating 700 jobs and delivering a smouldering serving of arts and culture on Melbourne’s stunning waterfront,” Cr Roshena Campbell said.

“The City of Melbourne’s jam-packed calendar of events, festivals and activations strengthens our economy – bringing more than six million people to the city in 2023.”

For those inviting friends and family to enjoy in the festivities, The Sebel Docklands is offering a special Firelight Family Stay for up to four people ($279 per room per night), including a two-bedroom self-contained apartment, complimentary car parking, late check-out and two-for-one drink voucher at Urban Alley Brewery Docklands.

The Art of Banksy Without Limits

Opening in mid-June, The Art of Banksy Without Limits follows the life and work of the world’s most famous and mysterious street artist.

It will exhibit more than 180 of the artist’s works, including more than 100 originals, prints on different kinds of materials, photos, sculptures, and more.

Dreamskape

Also opening in June at The District Docklands is Dreamskape, an Australian-first immersive sensory experience perfect for all ages and groups.

You will discover new worlds and experiences by utilising immersive light, sound, and movement inside an augmented reality environment with no visual aids.

Step inside the Dream Verse, jump aboard the Dream Coaster or play a Dream Game, in an interactive universe like no other. •
