Doglands is the new mega-venue from Melbourne brew-masters, Moon Dog, promising a “tropical oasis in amongst the hustle and bustle of the Docklands.”

With a “likely opening” in August, the team behind venues like Moon Dog OG in Abbotsford, Moon Dog World in Preston, and the recently opened Mood Dog Wild West in Footscray’s Franco Cozzo building, has engineered Doglands to offer a 1500-person venue for game days and functions, and a 100-person capacity venue open seven days week.

Moon Dog co-founder Karl van Buuren told Docklands News that stepping inside Doglands would be an experience like no other.

“As you walk into the venue, while completely unassuming from the outside, you will be met by palm trees, rock formations and an expansive venue with plenty of different areas to explore,” he said.

“The venue is designed to operate both as an amazing gameday experience for pre- and post-events at Marvel Stadium, but also one of Melbourne’s largest and most unique function spaces.”

“While the large 1500-person will only be open for major events and functions, we will also have a smaller, more intimate 100-person venue that will be open seven days a week, which we hope will be a great addition for locals and a place for people to gather for after-work drinks.”

According to Mr van Buuren, the all-week offering will dish up your “favourite” food, beers, wines, and cocktails, along with a variety of weekly events such as trivia and a running club, and while the venue is still being built, they are now taking function bookings for Christmas for groups of 200 to 1500. •
